New investors likely at Notts County
Peter Trembling, Notts County owner, has indicated that the club is set to finalize deals with new investors according to a BBC report. The club's director of football Sven -Goran Eriksson and Trembling are progressing better than they had hoped says Trembling. Trembling spoke to the BBC Radio Nottingham, " We are making immense strides, a lot quicker than I thought we would do and dared hope. Hopefully we will be in a position to announce some news in seven days on that and on the management side. Sven met with them three weeks ago and it's looking really good."

The new investment will allow the Meadow Lane club to stay on its five year plan to target the Premier League. "We get an investor with significant amounts of cash who can put the money in straight away, and we can still look for the Premier League in five years. If we are going to the Premier League it's got to be £25m as a starting point. At Notts County we virtually have no debt. We're actually in a very good position. That is advantageous from a selling perspective and the fact that Sven's on board and has committed himself to the club is a huge bonus too."

Trembling, who was the executive chairman of the club took over from Munto Finance earlier in December.
